Judai Yuki is our hero and the main character of Yuugiou GX. He's the one with the two toned orange-brown hair and brown eyes. Johan Andersen, the blue haired and green eyed one, is a European exchange student who enters the series during season three. Both boys meet during episode 106, "Judai vs Johan of the Gem Beast Deck" on the roof of Duel Academy. When they first shake hands, they have a strange feeling as if it wasn't the first time they'd met. Both of these young men have the ability to see duel monster spirits and because of their similar open attitudes, they become quick friends. Also like Judai, Johan has a spirit partner (Ruby Carbuncle) that tends to fight with Winged Kuriboh over them. It was after their first duel that Johan starts to hang out with Judai often, becoming very close with him. At one point in season three, Johan even entrusts his precious Gem beasts to Judai to help him win a duel against a certain someone. Basically they have an "iron bond" of friendship that can't be broken easily if not at all.
